SemRede 2026 runs from October 26 to 31 in Coimbra, Portugal. Five days at Eva Farm, then one open day in the city.

A working farm and learning space for a regenerative future. This is where the week happens: hands-on sessions, talks, meals and camping.

Getting there

  • MetroBus, straight to the door. At Coimbra-B take line S1 towards Serpins and get off at Vale de Açor. The farm is at that stop, about 10 km south-east of the city.
  • Already in the centre? Line S2 towards Serpins leaves from República and stops at Vale de Açor too.
  • The MetroBus runs on the old Lousã railway, so it has its own lane and is not stuck in traffic. Check the timetable of the day at metromondego.pt.
  • By car, follow the EM 633 to Vale de Açor. If you have spare seats, offer them in the Rides & logistics part of the forum.

What to bring

  • Tent and sleeping gear if you camp, plus something warm: October nights in central Portugal get cold.
  • Boots or shoes you do not mind getting muddy, a torch, a water bottle.
  • Whatever you want to show or work on: radios, antennas, boards, tools, seeds.

Getting there

  • By train. Get off at Coimbra-B, take the free shuttle train to Coimbra-A in the middle of town, and walk up into the old town from there.
  • By coach. FlixBus and Rede Expressos stop at the Terminal Rodoviário, about a 15 minute walk from Largo da Freiria.
  • Largo da Freiria sits in the old town above the Baixa, so the last stretch is uphill and on stone. Sensible shoes help.
  • Driving in the centre is slow and parking is scarce. Leave the car outside the centre and walk.

Getting to Coimbra

By train

Coimbra sits on the main Lisbon to Porto line. Long distance trains (Alfa Pendular and Intercidades) stop at Coimbra-B, north of the centre, and a short shuttle train runs from there to Coimbra-A in the middle of town, included in the ticket. Roughly two hours from Lisbon and about an hour from Porto. Book at cp.pt.

By bus

Coaches from Lisbon, Porto, Faro and across Europe stop at the Coimbra bus terminal near the centre. FlixBus and Rede Expressos both serve the city, and tickets are usually cheaper than the train.

Coming from Porto airport? FlixBus runs coaches from the airport itself to Coimbra, so you can step off the plane and onto the bus without going into Porto. Check the times for your day at flixbus.pt.

By plane

The nearest airports are Porto (about 120 km) and Lisbon (about 200 km). Porto is usually the shorter trip, and Ryanair flies there from most of Europe, often for very little.

From Porto airport, take the FlixBus coach straight to Coimbra, or the metro into Porto and a train from Campanhã station. Lisbon airport is on the metro, with trains to Coimbra from Oriente or Santa Apolónia.

By car

Coimbra is on the A1 motorway between Lisbon and Porto. If you have spare seats, offer them in the forum: someone is always looking for a ride.
