Showcase

Projects bring a table, a demo and whoever wants to talk about them. On the Saturday the booths are outside and the presentations run inside the building.

Propose your project

Write it up in the Showcase part of the forum: what it is, what you need (space, power, a wall, quiet) and which days you can be there. People read the proposals and vote, and that decides who gets a table. Say in the same post if you also want a slot to present.

The eXtended Packet Radio System: short text messages that travel over whatever is around, Bluetooth, LoRa, WiFi, amateur radio or the internet, and hop device to device when none of it is there. Messages are 250 bytes of plain text, the same format on every medium, encrypted when you want them private.

Your identity is a key made on your own device. Nobody issues it and nobody can revoke it, so there are no accounts and no servers to ask permission from. Devices take roles: station, relay, carrier, gateway, file server, archiver.

There are apps for Android, Linux and Windows, and firmware for LoRa boards like the T-Dongle-S3, M5Stack and Heltec. The code is BSD licensed, and it borrows from Reticulum, NOSTR and good old APRS.

SOS map: ask for help, follow how an emergency is unfolding and coordinate with the people nearby.
Points of interest: a map the community fills in together, water, shelter, supplies, people who know things.
Academy: webinars, workshops and the literature worth reading.
Donations: a way to back projects and communities that need it.
